1. To provide accurate, unbiased information on pregnancy, birth and the early post natal period
2. To promote normal birth and decrease inappropriate medicalisation of pregnancy and birth
3. To empower women, couples and families - through FREE access to local support and information groups run by mothers and midwives in equal partnership
4. To work with others to improve maternity services and decrease birth trauma
5. To provide a public ‘voice’ for women experiencing difficulty with their maternity care
6. To promote collaboration between women and maternity services to improve maternity care
7. To provide a forum of shared learning and knowledge between women and healthcare professionals
8. To support the right to make truly informed choices based on personal beliefs, circumstances, feelings and needs
9. To be non-judgemental of the choices others may make by accepting that they are their choices to make.
10. To promote autonomy and responsibility
