Birthconnections - Yoga for Pregnancy
Pregnancy yoga provides both a physical and emotional preparation to help you approach pregnancy and birth with strength, confidence and calm. YogaBirth classes incorporate yoga postures and movements to strengthen and open your body; encouraging your baby into a good position for labour; breathing awareness to increase calm, focus and balance; relaxation to release deeply held tensions and to promote the well-being of yourself and baby. Each class includes time for discussion on a pregnancy or birth related topic, sharing information and refreshments.

Many women choose to take up yoga for the first time when they are pregnant so there is no need to have practiced yoga before…and definitely no need to be able to touch your toes!

Sandra Farmer teaches YogaBirth classes in Glasgow and is from a background in Obstetric Physiotherapy, having taught Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Preparation Workshops in Edinburgh for a number of years.

Ayr Chiropractic Centre
Ayr Chiropractic Centre was first established in 2002. It has now expanded to offer a wide range of complementary treatments and therapies including Chiropractic, Craniosacral therapy, Massage Therapy, Reiki, Applied Kinesiology, Counselling and Homeopathy. In March 2006 we moved to our new premises in Miller Road.

Chiropractic is non-invasive and is primarily concerned with the functioning of the musculoskeletal system, which is the muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons and cartilage that form the physical structure of the body. Following assessment, treatment takes place using precise, very small movements (adjustments) to allow the joints to function normally; in addition massage and stretching techniques are sometimes used. Home exercises may also be recommended, along with dietary or nutritional changes to help the body to return to normal function more rapidly.

Ronnie Allan
Massage on a regular basis has tremendous benefits for everyone, especially those taking part in any physical activity and is the only actual treatment that can be applied specifically to help prevent injury. It has proved over the centuries to be a very safe therapy, being non-invasive and assists rather than changes the body's natural chemistry. It is also extremely effective when working in conjunction with other complementary therapies.

Pregnancy to Parenthood ~ Cassy McNamara
I am a registered midwife who has chosen, after a number of years working in the NHS, to work independently in private practice. Working this way means that I am able to offer continuity of care for women and families before, during and after pregnancy and birth, providing a responsive, unique and personal service. I am registered and governed with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK and bound by the same regulations and codes of conduct as NHS midwives.

I believe:
in the ability of most women to grow, birth and nurture their babies; in the vital role of midwives in supporting families to achieve a positive pregnancy and birth experience; that women and their families should be well informed and the main decision makers in all aspects of their pregnancy and birth care.

Foresight
The Association for the promotion of preconceptual care. Foresight has put together a thoroughly researched pre-conception programme, which identifies and addresses various areas of concern in the health in any pair of prospective parents. The objective is to optimise the health of both prospective parents well before conception occurs so that a pregnancy can be started with a normal, strong sperm and ova and the embryo can implant and develop under optimum conditions in a healthy uterus, with no danger of damage from nutritional deficiency, toxins or disease. This web site contains a great wealth of information, drawn from many different sources, and put together for the benefit of the public, so please take time to look around it. Whatever your reason for seeking us out, we hope you find the answers you are looking for.
